OLENA ( OLENI )
ILIA - PELOPONNESE GREECE
Olena ( Oleni ) is a small traditional village that is located 28km northeast of the city of Pyrgos.
It is a village that has been occupied since the Mycenaean era.
During the Frankish occupation, Olena was an important city and was the capital city of Hilia and as well was the headquarters of the Frank Archbishop.
Today visitors can see the ruins of the Frank castle, which are situated a little out of the village.
